The stylisation of dance forms as compositions for the concert hall has a long tradition in western music history. In the first place the Tangos and Milongas by C. René Hirschfeld are written as concert duo pieces likewise. During performances by the tango orchestra "Que Tangazo!" (in an orchestrated version) it turned out that some of them are very well danceable and therefore suitable for tango balls, too. The Tangos and Milongas were composed in 2005 and blend stylistic elements of Argentine tango and tango nuevo with European tango and composition principles of western classical music.
