(Aus dem Vorwort von Elke Hager) Rezension: "Henle should take a leaf out of Doblinger's book. This is a beautifully presented edition of a transcription for cello of one of Locatelli's violin sonatas. The piece is more famous among cellists these days in the 19th-century transcription by Alfredo Piatti, and as a result Ms Hager has included the interpolated Adagio from the Seventh Sonata that Piatti inserted while restoring the first two movements (an introductory Largo leading into an Andante) that Piatti chose to omit. The text is presented without subjective additional fingerings or bowings. and the occasional editorial suggestion is added tentatively with hyphenated markings or asterisks. There is a realisation of the basso continuo by Bernd Becher and a second cello part with figured bass is included as well. Now that it is available unsullied by a century of performing tradition I feel inspired, for the first time in my life, to investigate this beautiful music." (Robert Max, Music Teacher, April 2007)
