Published here for the first time in printed form, this sonata has been handed down as a manuscript and anonymous 'Sonata pastorale.' The five part volumes are entitled: Flauto primo, flauto primo di ripieno, Flauto secondo di ripieno and Bassone di flauto, and are contemporary arrangements and compilations forming a greater work that consists of four movements. The first two movements are taken from a three-movement trio in G major by Alessandro Besozzi, the last two movements correspond to the two movement trio sonata no. V in G major by Guiseppe Tartini.
