Sicilienne, Op. 78 is a composition for cello and piano by French composer Gabriel Faure. It has been adapted for the string bass by Fred Zimmerman. Although it was originally composed as part of the incidental music for Moliere's Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, the piece was never used in this capacity. Instead, it was used as a solo for cello with piano accompaniment. When first published in 1898, it was dedicated to the British cellist William Henry Squire.
