Die drei Flötenduos op. 9 sind wie die 6 leichten brillanten Flötenduette op. 19 überwiegend noch dem klassischen Geist verhaftet, auch wenn sich gerade in den langsamen Sätzen romantische Ansätze zeigen. Für die Liebhaber des Duettspiels ist diese Musik eine wunderbare Entdeckung, voller melodischer Überraschungen stets auf einem spieltechnisch überschaubaren Niveau. Aufgrund der Länge der einzelnen Duette habe ich mich bei diesen 3 Duos für eine Ausgabe mit Partitur und Einzelstimmen entschieden, um sowohl dem Wunsch nach Partiturform, als auch einer ohne Unterbrechungen spielbaren Fassung durch Einzelstimmen nachzukommen. Die Wendestellen wurden sorgfältig ausgewählt und in der Praxis erprobt und machen mitunter das Blättern mit der rechten Hand während des Spiels notwendig.
The three flute duets op. 9, like the 6 light brilliant flute duets op. 19 (20019 and 20042), are still predominantly rooted in the classical spirit, even if romantic approaches are evident, especially in the slow movements. For lovers of duet playing, this music is a wonderful discovery, full of melodic surprises always at a technically manageable level.
Due to the length of the individual duets, I have opted for an edition with score and individual parts for these 3 duets in order to satisfy both the desire for score form and a version that can be played without interruptions by individual parts. The turning passages have been carefully selected and tested in practice and sometimes make it necessary to turn the pages with the right hand while playing.
