In the summer of 2013 the violinist Ilya Gringolts and the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra introduced Weinberg's Violin Concerto in Schwarzenberg and at the Bregenz Festival, creating great enthusiasm. There followed two CD recordings of the impressive Violin Concerto that will be issued in 2014: a recording with the violinist Linus Roth and the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the direction of Mikhel Kütson as well as a recording with Ilya Gringolts and the Warsaw National Philharmonic under the direction of Sacele Kaspszyk. Weinberg composed instrumental concertos for violoncello, violin, flute, trumpet and clarinet, but, surprisingly, none for his own instrument, the piano.
