A very early work for the valve horn is published in print for the first time now. In all likelihood, Johann Christoph Schuncke (1791-1856), First French Horn Player at the Baden Court Chapel Karlsruhe, composed the work late in 1829 to use it in his own concerts. The Concertino in three movements (Adagio. Allegro con brio - Andante con moto - Rondo Allegretto) is stylistically inspired by Carl Maria von Weber, Louis Spohr and Franz Danzi. The work shows that Schuncke was an excellent valve horn virtuoso. Score and parts of the orchestral version is available for hire.
