Gaetano Andreozzi was born in Aversa (May 22, 1755 - Paris, December 24-26, 1826), the same city that had given birth to two great musicians a few years earlier: Domenico Cimarosa and Niccolò Jommelli… The frontispiece reads as follows: SIX Quartets for two violins, viola and cello dedicated to the illustrious Mr. Agostino Dini, Patrizio Fiorentino by Gaetano Andreozzi, Maestro di Cappella Napoletano (Opera I). In the lower right-hand corner, it states: “engraved in Florence in the shop of Ranieri Del Vivo”.
